SOUTHERN STYLE CABBAGE SOUP

SOUTHERN STYLE CABBAGE SOUP

*Ingredients

°1 small head of chopped cabbage

°2 lbs lean ground beef

°2 14 1/2 cans of stewed or diced tomatoes

°1 can of rotel

°2 cans of 8 oz tomato sauce

°1 large chopped onion

°4 celery stalks, finely chopped

°1 small bell pepper, finely chopped

°Diced potatoes

°2 tablespoons of salsa; optional

°Spices; season as desired.

°Cayenne-pepper

°chili-powder

°4 garlic

°salt

°paprika

°black-pepper

°a pinch of Creole seasoning from Tony Chachere. I add a lot!

°a pinch of Old Bay seasoning

°a pinch of Mrs Dash without salt

*Instructions

Brown the celery, onion, pepper and garlic in olive oil and set aside

Brown ground beef also drain fat.

lightly toss the cabbage in 4 tablespoons of butter until the cabbage is tender

Adding cabbage & other ingredients to cabbage is tender and potatoes are tender

Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven or large saucepan and cook until the potatoes
